by Dzheveira Karimova (class of 2021)In the midst of a global pandemic, SciCore students are not giving up on receiving their education in most creative and entertaining ways. In the American Government and Civics class conducted by Mr. Zaccari, we are exploring the depths of government and politics through our simulative governments of Fortis and Duckland (The names were made by us). Throughout this simulation, we got to structure our own Constitutions, pass numerous legislations, conduct Presidential Elections, and ultimately elect the Presidents of both groups. We were able to build our country from the very basics--from the country name and flag to its very specific policies about welfare and national security. The periodical newspapers were written and published by Rebecca Furman (Class of 2022) in both Duckland and Fortis, meanwhile the presidential candidates were debating and legislators were drafting their policies. Here are some campaign bios, legislations, and newspapers prepared by SciCore students in the pursuit of a better political future of Duckland and Fortis!
